Meeting Americans - Discussion Groups on Culture

While reading about culture can be beneficial, the quickest way to learn about a country's culture is to meet its people.   Our CultureUSA team members have experienced this first-hand in their cross-cultural experiences outside of the USA.   We want you to have the same experience!

We live in a world today where people frequently live outside of their home country.   In most major cities of the world and even in rural villages, you can now find American citizens who have made their home in another country.   Many of these individuals are willing and eager to become friends with individuals from the country in which they are now living.   CultureUSA has networked with many of these American citizens all around the world, and we want to help put you in touch with them.

Because Americans' value making the most of their time, all that we ask from you is that you find several other individuals to participate in this group.   American citizens will be more likely to want to help you learn about culture if there are several people in the group.   Having several people will also make the discussion time more exciting and productive.   Think about including your immediate family members, relatives, friends, or people with whom you work or attend school.

Please note that we cannot guarantee that we will be able to start a discussion group in your town or area.   Our network of friendly Americans who want to help you learn about the USA is constantly growing, but we do not have contacts in every city or town.   Submitting your request expresses your interest in being a part of an American-led discussion group.   We take each request seriously and will work hard to connect you with an American citizen.
